How to Layer your Nighttime Skincare Routine like a Dermatologist.

All of these step’s aren’t necessary, but here’s the order I recommend to get the best results from your skincare routine:

Step 1: (only if you are wearing make-up). Pour micellar water (like Garnier Micellar Water) on to a cotton pad and gently press against skin to remove make-up.

Step 2: Use a water-based cleanser like the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. Start here if you aren’t wearing make-up.

Step 3: Toner. If you choose to use a toner, I prefer soothing toners at night that contain ingredients that support the skin barrier, like the Anua Rice 70 Milky Toner.

Step 4: Serums, layered thinnest to thickest. You don’t need 10 serums – I would probably pick max 2-3 based on your skincare concern. Peptide serums (like SkinDeva Argireline 20% with Matrixyl 3000) are the way to go for fine lines/wrinkles, and dark spot serums containing brightening actives (like Good Molecules Discoloration Defense) are my pick to even out skin tone

Step 5: Apply a pea-sized amount of a retinoid (like Differin adapalene gel) and spread evenly on your skin.

Step 6: Moisturizer, like CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. NEVER skip moisturizer if using a retinoid and apply a nice thick layer.

Step 7: Eye cream, like the Andalou Rejuvenating Eye Balm which contains bakuchiol which may help plump under eye lines and reduce dark circles
